Chill Out supplied temporary indoor retail cooling at TamboersWinkel, a well-known coffee shop and specialty grocer located in the Gardens, Cape Town.
The deployment took place from 7 to 14 April 2026, following an air conditioning failure affecting the front-of-house seating area where the majority of customers are accommodated.
TamboersWinkel operates within a semi-indoor environment, combining enclosed interior sections with open-front seating and large windows facing the street. While this layout creates an inviting and accessible retail space, it also allows heat to accumulate during warmer conditions. The business is located particularly in the Cape Town city bowl, where temperatures can rise significantly.
With the front air conditioning unit out of service and high temperatures forecast for the week, the client requested a same-day urgent cooling solution to maintain a comfortable customer environment.
To support the space, Chill Out supplied 1 Medium-size Evaporative Air Cooler. Our team strategically positioned the unit within the primary customer seating area. This maximised airflow across the semi-open frontage, helping to reduce heat buildup and improve overall comfort.
