Emergency Cooling Patagonia
Chill Out supplied an emergency indoor cooling solution at the Patagonia Store located at the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town, following a sudden air-conditioning failure during the peak December trading period.
The store required cooling inside a two-level retail space measuring approximately 150–200m². Additionally, the store consists of a main ground floor with an internal staircase leading to a second-level loft area overlooking the retail floor below. Due to the open internal layout, balanced airflow was required to maintain comfortable conditions across both levels.
The client contacted Chill Out on the morning of 5 December 2025 after their air-conditioning system failed unexpectedly. With repairs only expected in the new year, the client requested an urgent one-month rental. The store required on-site support as soon as possible. Chill Out mobilised immediately and arrived on site the same day to install a temporary cooling solution.
Chill Out delivered and installed all equipment on 5 December 2025, with an initial collection scheduled for 5 January 2026. However, once permanent air-conditioning repairs were completed ahead of schedule, the client requested early collection, which we arranged for 31 December 2025.

As a result, this helped regulate internal temperatures without disrupting customer movement or store operations. In conclusion, this emergency cooling solution allowed the Patagonia store to continue trading comfortably throughout the busy festive period while permanent repairs were completed.
